Why we need you
We would like to introduce Volunteers at the heart of our service delivery model in order for our clients to feel part of their local community.
You will give your time through helping us to arrange in-house events such as coffee mornings, movie afternoons / evenings, Christmas parties, Easter raffles, Summer fares and craft activities like cake baking, painting to name a few.
We support our clients 24/7 so your time will be valuable to us during the day / evening
You will be joining our Harp House Extra Care team – which is a 2 minutes’ walk from Upney train station. You will have easy access to nearby busses taking you into Barking, and we can assist you with parking right outside the scheme (available on a first-come-first-serve basis).
This scheme is situated in a large building, with shops only a 3-minute walk away. You will also be 10-minute walk from Barking High Street, making it quite an exciting location to work in.
This scheme offers a staff room to our Care and Office teams with all the facilities you will need and where you can have your lunch and breaks.
They believe they are a great team to work with as they have a lovely Care team and a supportive and friendly Admin team! We have a very interesting mix of clients in this scheme and we offer care for mental health, dementia and general support to promote a diverse range of independence.
You will carry out your role alongside our paid staff who would take full responsibility for handling any incidents.
How we will support you
We will give you an introduction to the scheme facilities and introduction to clients where possible
We will make sure that you have a central staff contact who you can go to for support or with questions
We are also committed to making volunteering accessible to everyone so we will explore reasonable adjustments to the role if you require this.
What we are looking for
No experience necessary
We’re looking for someone who is responsible, organised, resilient and caring.
You will need good people skills and the ability to work within a team.
Please note that you will need an Enhanced DBS check in order to work with vulnerable adults. We can accept a DBS from the Update Service or assist you with a check.
If you are keen to help your community and make friends at the same time, we can offer you an exciting opportunity to gain new skills and experiences whilst working within a friendly and supportive environment so please get in touch with us today!
